 Enterprise CV-6 History
USS Enterprise (CV-6) was the seventh U.S. Navy vessel named Enterprise. Colloquially called “The Big E“, she was the sixth aircraft carrier of the United States Navy. A Yorktown-class carrier, she was launched in 1936 and was one of only three American carriers commissioned before World War II to survive the war (the others being Saratoga and Ranger). She participated in more major actions of the war against Japan than any other United States ship.
These actions included the attack on Pearl Harbor (18 dive bombers of VS-6 were over the harbor; 6 were shot down with a loss of 11 men—she was the only American aircraft carrier with men at Pearl Harbor during the attack and the first to sustain casualties during the Pacific War), the Battle of Midway, the Battle of the Eastern Solomons, the Battle of the Santa Cruz Islands, various other air-sea engagements during the Guadalcanal Campaign, the Battle of the Philippine Sea, and the Battle of Leyte Gulf. Enterprise earned 20 battle stars, the most for any U.S. warship in World War II, and was the most decorated U.S. ship of World War II. She is also the first American ship to sink a full-sized enemy warship after the Pacific War had been declared when she sank Japanese submarine I-70 on 10 December 1941. On three occasions during the Pacific War, the Japanese announced that she had been sunk in battle, inspiring her nickname “The Grey Ghost”.

The COBI USS Enterprise set is a massive, and I mean massive, aircraft carrier, that is very fun to assemble. The three included instruction books are very easy to understand and labeled in a way that makes assembling a breeze. The bricks are labeled by numbers in bags and the instructions walk you through it step by step, bag by bag. Overall, The USS Enterprise is a very detailed, fun-filled, set that will keep anyone of amy age entertained for hours! I highly recommend!

This is the biggest model that I have ever built – but also the coolest – so many details and features it has. Very fun to assemble. Cobi blocks are very high quality for an excellent price. Their assembly manuals are superb. It is a very pleasant to assemble and enjoy the carrier when built and on display. Warbricks had a wonderful price on the carrier and they had it in stock the earliest. I will definitely buy from them again!

Set came in fast and was exactly what I expected! Great quality bricks, and the end result is impressive to say the least! What really added to the experience was that the shipping slip was signed by the Warbricks team, it really shows how much this family cares about its customers!

Very cool kit, at over 2,500 pieces it’ll keep me entertained for quite a while. I’m impressed by the quality and for what is essentially a plastic brick set it’s quite detailed. Warbricks shipped promptly and I received it ahead of the promised delivery date. Would certainly buy COBI sets from Warbricks again.

What a fantastic set by COBI! They certainly did the Big E justice in producing a highly detailed and accurate scaled set. Brick quality is excellent as expected and with over 2500 pieces, she will take some time in the shipyard to assemble. I would definitely recommend the USS Enterprise to any history buff, WW2 enthusiasts or anyone who loves detailed well put together sets. Warbricks made the ordering process easy and I will definitely purchasing from here again in the near future again!

Worth every penny. As stated its huge. Cobi makes some fine examples of classic WW2 ships with detail that ranks right there with Lego. Hopefully Cobi will bring back discontinued ships soon. I’m told they are. Warbricks and the gang are top notch folks.

I bought this model to display and refer to in my US Wars high school class that I teach. Placed next to my Revell models, the coloring of Cobi really stands out.
Assembly wise, my daughter saw the package and asked if she could spend Christmas time putting it together! That is a double present.

The Gray Ghost looks incredible a true centerpiece to any warships collection. Just wish I had more American vessels to put beside her

The set was fun to build and had easy instructions, a standard of the COBI sets I’ve built so far.

Yet another great build from Cobi and Warbricks. The higher piece count to provide greater detail and realism is a big plus in this build. The Enterprise is a great example of bringing a little bit of WWII history back to study and teach to a new generation. As usual, the pieces fit well together and Cobi provided many custom pieces made for this set. Pad printing is also so much better than stickers.

I ordered this as a Christmas present for my little brother. We are both HUGE fans of any ship carrying the name Enterprise. He absolutely love the gift and his having a blast putting it together. Fit of parts is excellent and the finish is perfect. My transaction with Warbricks was perfect, totally smooth and very efficient. They kept me in the loop from start to finish. I will absolutely be buying from them again! Thanks Warbricks!
