Locked Martin F-22 Raptor History:

The F-22 Raptor is an American stealth fighter aircraft developed for the United States Air Force. It was designed as an air superiority fighter with additional capabilities for ground attack, electronic warfare, and signals intelligence. Lockheed Martin built most of the aircraft’s airframe and weapons systems, while Boeing provided other components.

The F-22 first flew in 1997 and entered service in 2005. Originally, the USAF planned to buy 750 aircraft, but the program was reduced to 187 due to cost, lack of air-to-air missions, and the development of the more affordable F-35. The final F-22 was delivered in 2012.

Despite initial difficulties, the F-22 has become a critical part of the USAF’s airpower. Its stealth, aerodynamic performance, and mission systems have greatly improved air combat capabilities.
