U-Boat XXVII SEEHUND History

The U-boat XXVII Seehund was a type of German submersible vessel developed in the 1940s for use in combat and training. It was powered by two electric motors, weighed about seven tons, and could reach up to twenty-four knots. The Seehund had two torpedo tubes and could carry a heavy charge of explosives. Its basic design remained unchanged over the three years of its existence but it became heavier as improvements were made to strengthen its structure and performance.

This compact boat was one of the smallest types of submarines used during World War Two and was designed to be deployed quickly and even be operated by one person. Its advantage lay in the fact that it did not need to surface regularly for air, however, this severely limited its range because it required recharging so frequently. These vessels saw action against Allied forces in the North Atlantic until they were decommissioned after Germany’s surrender in 1945.

    Small but impressive
Had to go back and redo couple of steps probably just went fast
Would be nice if it mounted to the base like the larger ships instead of just being cradled. Like the pad printing on the depth markings.

    easy to make
