Tiger 131 History:

Tiger 131 is a German Tiger I heavy tank captured by the British 48th Royal Tank Regiment in Tunisia during World War II. Preserved at The Tank Museum in Bovington, England, it is the only operating Tiger I in the world. Known to the Allies as a Tiger I, the German model designation was a Panzerkampfwagen VI, Tiger I (H1), Sd.Kfz. 181. It was built in Kassel, Germany with the hull being constructed by Henschel while the turret was made by Wegmann A. The tank was completed in January or February 1943 with the chassis number 250122. It was shipped to Tunisia between 12 March and 16 April 1943. The tank was assigned to No. 3 Platoon in No. 1 Company of the 504th Schwere Heerespanzerabteilung (German heavy tank battalion) in Tunisia during the North African Campaign bearing the turret number 131 by which it has come to be known. (Prior Version Review) After learning about the history of Tiger 131 during WW2, I had to buy this kit. For my kids???? NO! This one was for me. Seeing the high quality Cobi Block kits that my boys were building, I decided to add this kit to “our” collection. This really is a great kit and a lot of fun to build. Reminds me of my youth building plastic model kits. Thoroughly enjoyed it. I highly recommend building Tiger 131. I guess we’ll have to get a Sherman now…………..

  3. Kevin Pascual (verified owner)

Great fun build. Be careful with some of those pegs or they might get seated too deep. Other than that, it’s been my favorite tank build from Cobi

  4. TankR Jim (verified owner)

Just as expected…actually, a bit greater than expected! This is a great build with great detail. Product is quality, as all our Cobie builds have been. Pretty cool to have the history behind these as well!

  5. Luke Raker

very high quality kits; they are detailed and durable, and my son loves to build and collect them.

  6. nate (verified owner)

Even better than the first version of it.

  7. Frederick Kitz (verified owner)

An awesome replica of the famous Tiger 131 from the Tank Museum. Really enjoyed putting this one together. The detail tops that of the charcoal grey model, which is also a great set. Would highly recommend for any WW2 German tank fan.

  8. James Ward (verified owner)

My son (12) absolutely loved building this tank. Great product!

  9. Morgan (verified owner)

Great replica! Unfortunately, the first step was incomplete since we were missing a piece after opening! Very happy with overall product.

  10. Chris (verified owner)

Like all Cobi tanks, this one is exceptional! I purchased it for a friend and the smile on his face said it all! He says it was a fun build and the final product is beautiful. Definitely recommend.

  12. Krista Harris (verified owner)

Great set and I love the added detail of the bullet hole in the gun mantlet which nocked out the tank.

  13. Anthony Rukcic (verified owner)

    Excellent build and quality

  14. Curt (verified owner)

Solid tank and really cool. My son loves these and I just bought another for his friend overseas. Really great design and the tracks are great (a few years ago it seemed like tank treads weren’t as good but these are awesome). Also recommend buying from Warbricks. The company/staff is great. It is a family/small business of the highest caliber!
