Mark V (Male) History:
The British Mark V tank was an upgraded version of the Mark IV tank. The tank was improved in several aspects over the Mark IV, chiefly the new steering system, transmission and 150 bhp engine, but it fell short in other areas, particularly its insufficient ventilation leading to carbon monoxide poisoning for the crew. Various versions were fitted with a variety of armament including 6-pounder guns and machine guns.
The Mark V was first deployed in July 1918 on the Western Front at the Battle of Hamel; then at the Battle of Amiens, and on the Hindenburg Line during the closing months of World War I. There were two main further variants, the lengthened Mark V* and a few Mark V**s with a more powerful engine and wider tracks. A planned Mark V*** was never built. There are eleven surviving Mark V tanks. The Mark VIII tank was an enlarged Mark V with greater power: only those with the Liberty engine saw post-war service in the US. A further unarmed development was the Mark IX tank, one of the first armoured personnel carriers, which saw limited use in Britain after the war.

Are COBI Sets appropriate for children?
COBI Brick Sets are great for children and adults but you should be aware that younger children will need help with larger sets due to the huge number of parts and layered building style. We always encourage trying out one of the 1:48 scale tank sets to start out as they are smaller and are a great way to test the legendary COBI Brick quality.
Did you know this product page was completed by a kid? Warbricks is designed to provide life skills to our children so that they have options in addition to whatever career path they choose through life. Every order provides our children an opportunity to learn customer service, shipping, and web design/search engine optimization skills. In addition to skills, the children earn money for savings, spending and giving so that they can experience the benefits of charity.
How COBI Pre-Orders work:
COBI Bricks are made in Europe and are shipped via shipping container to the east coast. We have no control over when they arrive as that is handled by COBI’s USA office. We do get approximate lead times and we make sets available for pre-order approximately 1-2 months before the sets are expected to arrive. COBI sets do sometimes get delayed for various reasons but we do make a huge effort to ship out all pre-orders as soon as they arrive at our home business.
Shipping costs are very high for us due to the size of COBI boxes and the wight of the sets, so if you order multiple sets we typically send them out together and will set them aside until the pre-order set comes in. We encourage customers to make separate orders if they want the in stock sets to arrive before a pre-order set.

Great set!!! The design is very unique compared to other tank sets. No turret, interesting curves, and huge sides. The build is sturdy, and the tracks roll surprisingly well. Overall I highly recommend!

Just finished building the mark v tank and it looks awesome. I have all WW 2 tanks in my collection so a WW 1 tank was a nice addition. Highly recommend. As always Warbricks was great to deal with.

One of my first ventures into COBI tanks. Was a bit concerned about the tread being exposed on the top but sure made it easier to join the tread together. Side guns are a nice touch and swivel freely. Mine is probably displayed backwards but I like posing the figures.

I’m very happy with how this build turned out. Incredibly sturdy and the tracks roll easily. It goes well with my German WW1 tank
