Ghost of Kyiv Mig 29 Fulcrum Set History:
The COBI Ghost of Kyiv Mig 29 Fulcrum Set is inspired by the, believed to be, mythical Ukrainian Fighter pilot doused the “Ghost of Kyiv.” You can read about the circumstances surrounding this set here in this article on The Drive’s War Zone section.
The Ghost of Kyiv (Ukrainian: Привид Києва, romanized: Pryvyd Kyieva) is the nickname given to a disputed MiG-29 Fulcrum flying ace credited with shooting down six Russian planes in the Kyiv offensive on 24 February 2022. According to the Security Service of Ukraine, he has shot down 10 Russian jets as of 27 February. Although not confirmed to be real, the Ghost of Kyiv has been credited as a morale booster for Ukrainians.

Typical excellent Cobi quality and a great cause supported by Warbricks. I’ll continue to buy from them in the future

All and all it was fun to build and looks great. Also, the purchase of this set goes to support Ukraine. A very humble gesture. Shipping and service from Warbricks was top notch, as always!

4.5 stars! Great set, surprisingly detailed for a brick-built model. I took half a star for loose connections on the engines and the wheel clips. Otherwise it’s a very sturdy build. The custom base featuring Ukraine’s colors is a great touch. We’ve been contributing in other ways, but this is a fun way to support Ukraine.

Very nice set! I am especially excited about this one!
Typical high Cobi quality. A few challenging building steps and, as mentioned before, a few loose connections. (I’ve never been happy about the nose cone attachment on the jets).
Cobi top tip: SLOW DOWN! There will be similar / interchangeable parts that are difficult to tell apart. In this particular set, some of the color scheme is likely to trip you up. Keep referring to some full color pictures.

Great addition to the modern aircraft. Happy to support the cause in Ukraine.

The set does share most of the same flaws as others have pointed out on COBI bricks: hard to take apart once constructed (not really an issue for display models such as this one, but something to consider), overly specialized/specific parts (again, not really an issue for display models though kinda defeats the point of building bricks IMO), a very brute force approach towards its design philosophy (your mileage may vary), and instructions being very confusing.
The last part being a really big issue, which along with my stupidity (nothing new here) meant that I had to resort to superglue the nosecone on after screwing it up beyond salvaging. That’s mainly my fault. Still, combined with some of the other issues meant any mistakes tend to be rather unforgivable.
Still, overall a solid set if your intention is to build it, put it on a shelf, and never intend to disassemble it ever again. Otherwise I would suggest going elsewhere…

Another fun build. And very cool looking model. Enjoyed building. A few pieces are very similar in appearance so take your time building.

Loved building the Ghost of Kiev with my son. Awesome plane! Love the base!

A great model for a great cause. Some of the pieces do not fit as tight as I would have liked, but overall the build is solid, the form is fairly accurate, and the blue/yellow stand is epic!
