German 10.5 CM LEFH Field Gun History:

The 10.5 cm LEFH was a field gun used by the German Army during World War I and World War II. It was the most widely employed German field gun throughout both wars, and it was one of the most successful weapons designs produced during these two conflicts.

Designed by Krupp

First designed in 1900 by Krupp, the 10.5 cm leichte FeldHaubitze (LEFH) or Light Field Howitzer started out as an answer to the French 75mm which had been first used during WWI and gained fame for its success on the battlefield. This unique system optimized traditional elements like recoil absorption and loading together with advanced features such as semiautomatic loading technology that allowed single-man operation – something unheard of at that time period – while also featuring something very unusual: rapid fire capability!

The Pre-WWII Years

As production of these guns continued into pre-World War II years they were eventually mounted on railway cars, giving them even more mobility when needed. Several versions were produced over time with differing amounts of barrel/recoil length combinations allowing for a wide spectrum of applications that could take advantage of their capabilities, however none ever established themselves as higher than 12 or 15 inches for full scale operations – primarily due to military transportation concerns at this point in time (for instance: shorter barrels made transportation within cramped environments much easier).

World War II Use

Produced throughout the entire war effort (with some 800 pieces manufactured), these guns proved their usefulness again under heavy conditions; ranging from static defense positions to mobile counter punch positions around fixed targets like cities or mountainside bunkers – generally speaking they all excelled under varying scenarios where tactical speed and mobility was often paramount to success. While their elevation and traverse abilities weren’t top notch compared to competitive contemporary designs’ rate (which usually exceeded 20 degrees for both movement directions) they still managed impressive levels considering their era’s dated technologies & limited resources available for development; typically exceeding 14/15 degrees in both movements using proper sights & mechanisms provided along each model respectively.

Modern Use

These guns are still being used today by some countries such as Chile and Paraguay who have embraced them as part of their military arsenal since WWII ended in 1945; thanks mainly due to having undergone several minor modifications over the years improving upon their initial construction performance & overall longevity making them prime candidates for long term investments regardless how scarce original parts tend to be now days!

This is a perfect little kit to add some flavor to any diorama. I bought it specifically to try it out in the Bunker Set (3043) as there is not enough room inside of the bunker to house the complete gun, trailing arms slide right into the opening on the one side. It makes that 3043 set pop giving it an extra appeal with this addition. Definitely not for junior as the pieces are too tiny for the small soldier in your home army, but it’s a nice little challenging set for the kid at heart.

    My son loves this!

ITs a good set, fun to build. Only complaint i’d have is that one of the valve wheels cracked because of it being thin plastic. Beyond that its great
    would recommend.

    Grandson loved it.
