KTO Rosomak History:
The KTO Rosomak (meaning “Rosomak”) is a Finnish-designed armored infantry fighting vehicle (IFV) that has been widely adopted by various European armies. Developed in the late 1990s by Patria, a Finnish defense technology company, the Rosomak was designed to meet the demanding requirements of modern warfare, offering superior protection, mobility, and firepower.
The Rosomak is based on the Finnish Patria AMV chassis, which was originally developed for export markets. The vehicle features a robust hull that provides excellent protection against small arms fire, artillery shrapnel, and improvised explosive devices (IEDs). It is equipped with a powerful diesel engine that allows it to achieve high speeds and operate in various terrain conditions. The Rosomak’s main armament is a 30mm cannon, which can be complemented by a 7.62mm machine gun for anti-infantry purposes. Additionally, it can be fitted with a variety of other weapon systems, including anti-tank missiles and smoke launchers.
