A History of the HMHS Britannic:
The HMHS Britannic was a hospital ship launched in 1911 as the third of the Olympic-class ocean liners. During World War I, she served as a medical transport, evacuating wounded soldiers from the Dardanelles Campaign.
Tragically, the Britannic was sunk in 1916 after striking a mine in the Aegean Sea. Despite the efforts of the crew, the ship sank within an hour, resulting in the loss of over 30 lives.
The HMHS Britannic remains a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made during wartime and the vital role played by medical personnel in caring for the wounded.
